Fangfang Ma
I'm Fangfang Ma, a journalist passionate about telling the stories of New Zealand's Chinese community, with a particular focus on women, immigrants, and the vibrant worlds of entertainment and the arts. I also explore themes of Chinese culture, gender, and youth culture, introducing aspects of China to New Zealand readers. Join me as I bridge cultures through the power of storytelling.
Hailing from a rural village in northern China, I embarked on a transformative journey that led me to pursue a Master's degree in Ethnology in a bustling southern city. Along the way, I honed my skills as a Chinese language teacher in the Philippines. In May 2023, I ventured into the world of overseas journalism, beginning a new chapter of my career. Currently based in New Zealand, I am an independent journalist, committed to uncovering untold stories and amplifying diverse voices.
